Most of the classes are taught by Glenda (Aiwa). The structure of classes include warm-up with technique specific to type of class, drills, and choreography. Choreography varies from Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced class. Aiwa teaches her Hula classes with the ILIMA style of dance that was taught by Kumu Kas Nakamura from Halau Pulama Mau Ke Aloha Ka Ohana Ilima- MD. She teaches her Tahitian classes with styles from Kumu Mireille Thornton “MA” from The Mai-Kai Polynesian Restaurant in Ft. Lauderdale FL. Mireille’s techniques are a fusion of modern with traditional and ancient style elements. MA would bring in teachers from the islands to work with the dancers and teach the dancers. The show would be changed every year. She has hired professionals from Polynesian Culture Center and from Tahiti (ex. Lorenzo~ Le Grande Ballet). Many dancers who have had the chance to work with Kumu Kas and Mireille Thornton are very blessed to have that opportunity.

We just relocated to Colorado springs from O’ahu.
What area do you do classes? Im looking for a Halau in my area for my 11yr old daughter. Do you have any recommendations?
Mahalo in advance….Danielle
Hi, my name is Diane. I have lived many years in Hawaii but never had the time to learn the dance. My 8 year old son and I just moved to Denver and I am interested in both of us trying a beginner class. I was wondering if you have beginner classes on Saturday that occur about the same time, one for me and a male beginner class for him? Also, since we live in Evergreen, in the front range, are there any classes that might be closer to us on on the West side of Denver?
Mahalo,
Diane
I am interested for adult women beginner class and boy 10 y/r polynesian dance classes. Do we need to sign up prior to coming in?

Aloha! We are about three hours away from you! What we could do is if you have a lot of people interested maybe you could have us do a workshop and we can teach a hula and tahitian dance. Would this be something you are interested in? Let me know!
