Glenda started teaching dance classes in Aurora, CO in 2007. With only 3 students in class (one student her daughter - Nai'a) it quickly grew once she started performing for the Community especially with the first Lei Day appearance at L&L Hawaiian BBQ in Aurora. Through the years hundreds of students and families have entered the doors of this Polynesian Dance School. Some in hopes of learning something new and fun and others who connect back to their roots or miss their home in the islands. Glenda started training Hula, Tahitian, New Zealand, and Samoan dance. Many dancers continued to excel in the art form and eventually became part of Kalama Polynesian Dancers. Kalama Polynesian Dancers is the Company Class Dancers. They perform Professional Polynesian Shows throughout Colorado and beyond. Our dancers are very unique in that they are able to dance, MC, drum, teach, and perform fire.
Most of the Company Class are also Kalama's instructors. They have their own classes and help teach and motivate students in the group.
